Been a while since I’ve done any blogging on here. I really need to change that. So I thought, lets put a new theme on! :D
I also have some new stuff I would like to blog about in the coming weeks, its my new adventure into the Open Source world!
More details will come flooding through soon, but lets me just say this… I’m getting really sick of relying on a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to do all my home server needs. Time for change. Some command-line love is much needed, and long overdue.
Hey all, thought I’d blog something new on here… been a while… not that anyone really reads it anyways though lol.
Anyways, been working on several things recently. One of them being my portfolio site that I plan to use on this space (since I had this address printed out on 250 business cards ages ago!). Don’t worry, it’ll be a direct switch… so instead of www.hazsoft.co.uk being my blog it’ll be changed to www.hazrpg.co.uk and vise-versa. I intend to have links to show the change on both pages though.
Those who are interested in seeing my portfolio site, bare in mind it is very much work in progress at the moment, you can find it @ www.hazrpg.co.uk/port_mine/.
Other projects I’m working on are a little on the hush-hush side for now, but I will tell you this… it’s to do with C++/SDL/OpenGL…

Also, I started getting annoyed with the amount of spam I was getting… so got something in place to stop that now [ thanks Phil ;) ]. Nothing more interesting as of yet… just have a week and a half left at college, and then have exams after that… so its all stressful at the moment!
I’d first like to point out, this is the first time I’ve ever used WordPress, in all honesty, and so far it was a breeze to install. No one likes a long and complicated install for a web application.
Anyways onto the juicy stuff, who the …. am I? I hear you ask. Friends call me Haz, and I’m currently a student studying Foundation Degree in Computing (second-year). You may, or may not, have noticed from the title that I like coding. What better way to start a new blog then with the usual starting point of “Hello World!” :)
The reason I made this blog I guess was because I’ve been diving in with software development for the web (web applications or rich internet applications), and well in a small way WorldPress is a web application – so what better than to start there? Also means that anything I find of interest I can quickly blog it down for all to see, and even for myself to come back to it later on. Plus one of my tutors, Phil Emerson, has mentioned WordPress a fair bit and usually anything he likes I seem to like too – so I thought I’d give it a go!
Alright, just found one thing that’s bugging me so far with WordPress… the WYSIWYG editor seems to be two steps behind my typing. I’m sure there will be a way around that.
I’ve got a few things I’d like to blog down, but I feel that deserves its own post. Thanks for stoping by and I hope you enjoy reading things I shall be putting on here in upcoming days (or even months or years!).
